Missing my family...

When we decided to move to Virginia, I knew I wouldn't see my family as much as I used to. It's been very hard, but I get to count down to the next time I see them often, so I always have something to look forward to. Last year, I saw at least my Mom 5 times but I'm pretty sure that won't be happening again. It was special year! First, Mom came by herself to see where we were living and how things were going.
We went to the Cherry Blossom Festival and toured DC sights for a week.

Then Mom, Dad and Will came over 4th of July so they could meet Chris's boys.

In September, Mom and Dad came to meet their new grandson, Logan Dale Siggins. Mom actually came a week before Logan decided to make his appearance, so we had a lot of time to hang out together again.

In November, I got to fly with my 1 month old Logan to Arizona and spend time with my WHOLE family. I hadn't seen my siblings and nieces and nephews for a whole year, and they hadn't met Logan, so this was a special trip too.

And finally, we got to take our whole family including Chris's older 2 boys with us to Arizona for Christmas. Again, a special trip so everyone could meet! (This picture doesn't really tell the story of everyone meeting, but Suzanne and Logan have such a special relationship, and this picture was too funny to pass up!)

On that last trip for Christmas, I had a really hard time leaving. I had known about all 5 trips since the beginning of the year, so I had been counting down all year long, always knowing when the next trip was. After this one, I didn't know though. Soon after we got home, my husband planned and made it possible for us to go to Carlsbad, CA with the whole family for a vacation at my parents beach house. I am so excited to go! My family is awesome, and I miss them terribly.

I am eagerly awaiting another week off and another vacation to see my family, but also knowing that now we've got to work on the next time I'll get to see them. Maybe I can get some of them to come visit us...? :)
